2006 ACADEMIC SUMMER CAMPS

Marine Science Summer Camp

Middle School students entering 6th, 7th or 8th grades, and High school students entering 9th through 12th grades are invited to join us for a week-long odyssey of discovery as we explore Brevard's coastal ocean, the Indian River Lagoon, and small creeks.

Forensics Camp

The Florida Forensics Camp is designed to explore forensic psychology and forensic science. Television series such as "CSI" and "NCIS" have peaked the imagination and interest of the general public and students alike.

Camp Dream Builders

Florida Tech offers two summer civil engineering and construction management programs this summer for middle and high school students on the Melbourne campus. One is for students entering the 7th to 9th grade; the other is for students entering the 10th to 12th grade. Both camps are five days long and were developed by Florida Tech's Department of Civil Engineering and the Construction Industry Advisory Board.

Summer 2006 Writing Camp


The Humanities Department will be holding a Summer Writing Program that will include:

      Session I: Creative Writing—Beginning fiction writing, Flim scriptwriting (9:00-noon daily)
      Session II: Expository writing—SAT essays and writing skills, College application essays (1:00-4:00 daily)
Cost of camp: $275.00 per student for both sessions; $150.00 per student for single session. Price includes notebook of writing techniques.

Activities: Florida Tech faculty professors will lead each session. There will be guest speakers and Botanical gardens writing experiences. Optional lunch served in college cafeteria- noon to 1:00. Optional film showings from 4:00-5:00 each day.

Deadline for Registration: Friday, June 16, 2006 (enrollment limited) - Registration fee: $75.00
